It describes the mind of an 11 year old girl name Riley who is experiencing a huge transition in her life, trying to overcome the difficulties that comes with relocating at a young age.  They mention five lessons and the first one is managing your emotions. Emotions are in control of our behaviors. So when we are losing control of a situation its best to take a moment to observe our emotions and regain control, therefore we can make better decisions. Naturally we tend to make a decision in a split second letting our emotions take control, therefore we end up making a choice that can leave us regretting.
